Learn how an organization consults with a Health Promoter Network in rural, low-income communities to develop local expertise and leadership for communities to enact their own health and development agendas. Explore how pairing microfinance and program planning training can increase community participation and ownership over local development efforts. Examine how health visioning engages tribal leadership in community health assessment. Compare interventions for implementing evidence based practices in rural local and global setting.
Session Objectives: Describe the characteristics of two programs that build organizational and community capacity. Explain the role of school health policy research in a tribal school community. Explain the process of establishing a strategic vision for community health assessment (CHA) and health planning
