Youth Roundtable: Youth Leading the Way to Healthier Communities

Roundtable
This session will highlight youth-led community projects, initiatives, and research aimed at addressing health disparities in underserved youth communities. Panelists will discuss components of effective youth development programs, the processes used to engage youth leaders in research and advocacy efforts, and project outcomes. Presentations will emphasize the unique role that youth play in engaging and leading their peers and communities towards increased awareness, action, and improved outcomes related to community health, leadership capacity, and professional development.
Session Objectives: Discuss processes used to engage youth leaders in public health research and advocacy.
Describe components of effective positive youth development programming.
Compare multiple methodologies to deliver effective health professions education to youth of color.
Discuss key findings across projects related to the promotion of health, wellbeing, and social justice.
Describe youth perspectives on leadership and involvement in public health research and advocacy.
