With social media becoming an integral pasrt of our lives and an important way we share and access all informaiton, including health information, this session addresses gaps in our understanding of the flow of health information through socla media, by examining the frequency, quality and type of health information accessed through this medium. Presenters also discuss evaluation and results of social media initiatives and the opportunity these media present in improving health literacy and behaviors.
Session Objectives: Discuss the role of social media in health information sharing, identify how, when and what kind of information is shared, and describe the effictiveness of social media in improving health knowledge.
