Life expectancy is shorter in many rural counties of the US than in urban America. In some rural counties, particularly in the southeastern US, life expectancies have decreased over the past decade. This session will consider specific aspects of the rural - urban health disparity and strategies that are being applied to reduce these disparities.
Session Objectives: Explain four areas of rural-urban health disparity
List correlates of the rural-urban health disparity
List strategies for developing plans to reduce such disparities
