Monday, November 4, 2013: 4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Poster
As the Asian and Pacific Islander (API) community continues to become more diverse – in terms of ethnicity, culture, time and destination of migration, languages spoken, and generation – public health research must adapt to these dynamic patterns. This exciting session highlights the central role of social determinants and contexts in understanding the epidemiology of a wide range of health outcomes among API populations.
Session Objectives: Identify social determinants and/or ecological factors that influence API health. Discuss public health intervention strategies that consider social context and engage community when addressing API health.
