Research interests focus on aging, dementia and elder mistreatment with the perspective that abuse and neglect dramatically affect health and quality of life in old age, particularly in those with dementia or with other physical or cognitive limitations. Teach courses on social determinants of health and grant writing, and lectures to students, community groups, practitioners, and policy makers on issues of elder mistreatment.
