AMCHP Life Course Metrics Project

Since August 2012, the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs (AMCHP) has worked with seven state teams and a national expert panel to advance the development of standardized metrics for a life course approach in maternal and child health. This presentation will include a discussion of the progress of the AMCHP Life Course Metrics Project and the final selected set of indicators, focusing particularly on the context of children and youth with special health care needs. Specific indicators for this population will be featured, as well as a summary of state team discussion on indicators that did not meet the criteria for data availability or data quality, the potential for leveraging and realigning resources through the indicators, and opportunities for future indicator development.

I completed practicums at HRSA: MCH Workforce Development Division, MCHB and Health IT Branch, Office of Quality and Data, Bureau of Primary Health Care. I’ve managed federally-funded newborn screening education/research grants and coordinating advocacy activities for families of children with rare genetic conditions. I have an MSPH in reproductive, perinatal and women's health
