The Mujer Sana, Familia Fuerte (Healthy Woman, Strong Family) project was funded in late 2009 to address the need for effective cervical cancer education among Latinas. This community-based project seeks to increase knowledge, change attitudes, increase intent to change behavior, and change behavior among Latinas, leading them to seek cervical cancer screenings in Washington, DC, and Chicago.

The MSFF project has demonstrated that the program can increase knowledge, positive attitudes, self-efficacy and intention to screen for cervical cancer. Changes are necessary at the systems level to ensure women have access to cervical cancer screening In addition, future efforts must encompass patient navigation efforts as part of health education activities.
