Role of Mexican Society of Public Health in the construction of border health

Brief review of the Mexican Society of Public Health since 1944, and its subsidiaries in the United States – Mexico Border States, specially an analysis of the work they do with local, state, national and international health institutions. Review strategies for prevention, disease control and professionalization of public health workers in the border area. Lessons learned from different interventions in public health and replication of successful interventions in the border. Mexican Societies of Public Health are civil organizations dedicated to improve the health and wellbeing of Mexican people, working together with other sectors, trying to bring equity in the process of health-disease. Review of the recommendations from the border health meeting 2012, the Memorandum of Understanding with American Public Health Association and Pan American Health Organization. Presentation of examples of different processes between societies at both sides of the border, like Texas-Tamaulipas and Sonora-Arizona.

Identify the main characteristics of the Mexican Society of Public Health and its subsidiaries in the US-MX border.
