Incorporating media outreach can bring tremendous value to existing advocacy efforts at the state and local levels. This presentation will discuss the basics on how local advocates can utilize a range of communication techniques, including social media engagement and traditional media outreach to enhance your priority issues. APHA communication staff with share tools the association uses to enhance visibility of its legislative priorities including Twitter, Facebook and Public Health Newswire, a health news portal created and supported by APHA.
