I will present a series of award-winning TV clips on public health topics, discuss how HH&S inspired and informed 565-aired storylines from 2009-2012, and show the impact of selected storylines on viewers' knowledge, attitudes and behavior. Audience members will learn how they can serve as subject matter experts and advise Hollywood's writers and producers on storylines for television and movies.

Describe how entertainment narratives can influence individual knowledge, attitudes, and behavior on key health topics, including cancer and organ transplantation; Compare different methods of evaluating the impact of television storylines on viewers; Discuss patterns and trends in cancer-related information on prime time television; Explain the need for accurate health information in scripted prime time television programming.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: Sandra de Castro Buffington is the former director of Hollywood, Health & Society, a program of the USC Annenberg Norman Lear Center that leverages the power of the entertainment industry to improve the health and well-being of people worldwide. She provides resources to leading scriptwriters and producers with the goal of improving the accuracy of health related storylines on top television programs and films, resulting in more than 565 aired storylines from 2009-2012.
