The primary purpose is to create awareness of the pandemic spread of commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC) and the role epidemiology can play in assessment, policy making, and assurance. The purpose of this session is to provide epidemiologists, public health practitioners, public health researchers, and public health policy makers with a thorough understanding of the increasing prevalence of CSEC in the USA and globally. Further, to discuss the impact, cost, and burden to society, population health, and the health care system created by the rising tide of CSEC in the USA and globally. The critically important role of epidemiology in the assessment, policy making process, assurance, intervention, and evaluation initiatives in CSEC will be discussed. Epidemiological surveillance, data generation, and evidence opportunities, knowledge gaps and needs will be discussed. A call to action will be provided for discussion.

Describe the incidence and prevalence of CSEC globally, regionally, and within the USA. Evaluate recent policy, law enforcement, and agencies working to stem the tide of CSEC. Assess the relationship of internet pornography, sexual tourism, child abuse and CSEC.
