Hospital-Based Violence Intervention: In step with Health Care reform

Hospital-Based Violence Intervention Programs (HBVIP) are effective tools for reducing violence in our communities. Evidence-based data demonstrate that HBVIPs reduce repeat violent injury admissions to our hospitals as well as reduce criminal activity by its program participants. This presentation will highlight how public health ppractitioners can employ this strategy as a method to effectively reduce the burden of violence in our society.
