Using policy, systems and environmental change strategies, the city of Minneapolis has leveraged state, federal and private funds to improve community conditions so that healthier living is an easier choice. Multi-sectoral partnerships, intense investments and layering of efforts focused on areas of the City most at risk.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: Currently the Deputy Director of Health for the City of New Orleans. Prior positions included health commissioner for Minnesota, Director for Public Health Initiatives at the Minneapolis DOH and Family Support, overseeing six school-based clinics; the New Families Center, which helps families new to the school district access health insurance and immunizations; Healthy Start, a program to lower infant mortality among American Indians and African Americans; and other programs addressing maternal, child and adolescent health.
