Environmental health nursing research harkens back to the days for Florence Nightengale. ANHE's Research Workgroup has been successful in supporting nurse researchers nationally in a variety of ways including a peer mentoring program, a data base of publications in environmental health by nurse researchers, and a Research Retreat. Plans are underway for presentation of workshops on environmental health nursing research at Nursing Research Society conferences to expand awareness of this emerging trend to merge environmental health and nursing science.
