Haiti has 7% rate of diabetes according to the Haitian Foundation for Diabetes and Cardiovascular Management (FADIMAC - http://www.fhadimac.org/index.php?lang=en). A comprehensive diabetic foot program initiated in Haiti in 2009 and re-established in 2012 based in the Hospital Bernard Mevs Project Medishare (HBMPM) Wound Care Center with a preventative program associated with FADIMAC. The surgical portion will also be included at HBMPM. This is a program run by Haitians for Haitians supported by our group with the goals of training Haitian personnel to run a self-sufficient clinic. Data will be obtained for healing rates, amputations, and mortality associated with amputations.
