Oral disease is largely preventable, yet it accounts for significant human burden of pain, poor quality of life and millions of hours lost each year from work and school. What preventive approaches are best employed based on resources, workforce, culture and existing/emerging health delivery systems?

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: I am Director of ForsythKids, the school-based preventive oral health program of the Forsyth Institute. ForsythKids provides care to over 1600 children in community settings in Eastern Massachusetts. I am also Co-founder and Chair of the dental NGO Options for Children in Zambia, and, as a licensed dentist in Zambia, brings oral prevention and surgical care to Zambian communities along with an integrated effort to build the Zambian oral health workforce.
