Meeting community health needs through environmental labs

Heidi Klein, MSPH, Health Surveillance, Vermont Department of Health, Burlington, VT
Heidi (formerly the Principal at HK Consulting), will discuss the goals and process behind APHL's initiative: Meeting Community Health Needs through Environmental Labs. From day one, Heidi provided strategic consultation to the APHL project and forum that aimed to better connect local communities with their public health laboratories. In her current position within Vermont's state public health system, Heidi should also be able to discuss the limitations of the system that may make it difficult for communities to access their laboratories.
