Rewind: Eating in the 21st century

Tuesday, November 5, 2013 : 5:06 p.m. - 5:18 p.m.

Susana Leong, EdD, University of San Francisco, San Francisco, CA
A movie trailer is a great way to use snippets of a story to convey a subtle message. For some individuals, breakfast, lunch, and dinner might come from a vending machine. Some fast food restaurants are open 24 hours and they offer super-sized items. Food items are purchased online instead of in a grocery store. The grocery store itself may seem overwhelming. Some vegetables are prepackaged and others come with dirt on the actual vegetable. There seems to be one too many brands of food and it is getting very hard to navigate the supermarket. The trailer ends with images of eggs, which is the opposite of the image of the vending machine in the beginning of the video. If the viewer wants to learn more about the series of short clips then they would need to watch the entire video when it is available.
