Massachusetts Prevention and Wellness Trust Fund: Implementation Strategy

The Massachusetts legislature recently dedicated $60 million to a new Prevention and Wellness Trust Fund as part of a board effort to contain health care costs and improve quality of care. The Massachusetts Department of Public is charged with developing an implementation strategy to address the state's most costly preventable health conditions and reduce health disparities. This presentation will describe the process used to create that strategy and the current status of implementation.

Describe the implementation strategy for the Massachusetts Prevention and Wellness Trust Fund. Explain the role of the Department of Public Health and the Prevention and Wellness Advisory Board. Describe the evaluation plan, lessons learned, and challenges in implementation to date.
