The ASHES television spot was created as the anchor piece of a broader public health education campaign (allintoclearnair)geared toward tobacco-related policy, systems and environmental changes. The spot features children playing in a public park while in the background one hears the sound of children singing Ring Around the Roses. As the camera zooms out there are children wearing gas masks while playing on playground equiptment. Additionally we see people, also wearing gas masks, enjoying outdoor activities in the park. A mother can be seen pushing a stroller while a father and son enjoy a game of catch. There are also joggers and walkers wearing gas masks as well. The narrator (voice-over) which is also a child communicates the public health message that second-hand smoke contains 7000 chemicals, 70 of which can cause cancer. The spot ends with the voice of a child urging the public to make parks, workplaces and public spaces smoke-free.
