Case study: Stories by real Latina mothers project

A case study will be presented about the development of the Stories by Real Latina Mothers Project, which explores narratives from Latina Mothers about their experience of getting medical care as Medicaid recipients and as members of a minority group. Instructors will discuss the process of development of the project, including aspects of design, participant recruitment, and focus group and interview preparation. This process will later be applied in practice during the workshop.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: I have been working in topics of health equity and health disparities for the last six years. I also have 4 years of experience in focus group and individual interview guide creation, facilitation and content analysis. For the last year and a half I have been directly involved in the development of projects that utilize video storytelling as a health intervention method. I have also received training in Public Health and qualitative methods of research.
