Hip hop music serves as one of the most influential music genres in the past 20 years. Many youth and young adults not only listen to the music, but are fully entrenched in hip hop culture. With that being said, artists in the genre are very influential in setting trends and establishing ways of thinking among followers of the music/culture. This documentary, that was produced over a three year period, feature some of the most followed artists of the culture as they share their thoughts on what they feel we as a community can do to reduce HIV rates in a region of the U.S. that has been heavily impacted by the epidemic, the South.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: I have worked extensively in the field of HIV/STD prevention since 1993 in numerous capacities. In my current full-time position, I am the Lead STD Surveillance Investigator at the Houston Department of Health & Human Services. I currently volunteer with a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote prevention and HIV/STD education to African American and Latino youth and young adults.
