How to write a methods section

This section of the course will provide information on how to write a Methods section. Dr. Kogan will cover the goals and purposes of the section, how to describe the study design, independent and dependent variables, and statistical analyses. He will also give tips on clarity for this section, and how to avoid common mistakes for this part. The second half of this time period will be devoted to working with the class members on their Methods sections.

He serves on the editorial board of the Maternal and Child Health Journal and has served for the American Journal of Public Health. He has been a special editor for Pediatrics. He has published over 100 articles and book chapters on numerous topics in pediatric and perinatal epidemiology. He received his doctorate in epidemiology from Yale University.
