This session will describe the CDC�s approach to strategic planning for preparedness. It will explore the characteristics of county environmental health professionals related to readiness to engage vulnerable communities in emergency preparedness.
Session Objectives: At the end of this session, participants will be better able to:
� Discuss steps public health officials and advocates can take to prepare immigrant communities for public health emergencies.
� Explain predictors of disaster preparedness among Chinese and non-Chinese Asian immigrants.
� Evaluate how tracking community interaction and partnerships can assist in exploration of networks and modes of communication effective for community emergency preparedness.
