Health promotion and education programs designed for college students face particular challenges and opportunities. The speakers in this session will describe projects that measure college students' knowledge, attitudes and beliefs about various health-related behaviors. The session will also include presentations in which speakers will describe the web-based approach that they used in their work with college students. | |||
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant (learner) in this session will be able to: 1. Discuss how various educational approaches, including computer-tailored approaches and Motivational Interviewing, may offer benefits in primary prevention initiatives on college campuses. 2. Describe the process of conducting formative research and the development of salient constructs in the development of tailored behavior change interventions to reach college students. 3. Discuss the common health concerns and problems of college students, and their related barriers and enabling factors. | |||
