| This session will focus on cardiovascular epidemiology. Presentations will include understanding the pattern of excessive alcohol use and high blood pressure, social distribution and neighborhood characteristics of coronary heart disease, heart attack and stroke symptom knowledge in adult men, and the association of occupational lead exposure and cardiovascular disorders. | |||
| Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant (learner) in this session will be able to: 1. state patterns of excessive alcohol consumption by age, sex, and race/ethnic groups among persons with high blood pressure 2. Recognize how risk factors for coronary heart disease may cluster depending on social group 3. Recognize new evidence for the possible role of chronic environmental stress in cardiovascular disease and atherogenesis in older adults 4. Identify the characteristics of adult US males who are knowledgeable about heart attack and stroke symptoms 5. Evaluate the consequences of lead exposure and develop preventive measures | |||
