The mission statement at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, MD is “to improve the health of the communities we serve.” This is true not only for our patients and community members but for our own employees. In order to accomplish this mission, an on-site wellness program has been established. This session will appeal to those who are looking for ways to promote physical activity and healthy eating at the worksite as well as those who would like to offer a wellness program with financial incentives. During this session, participants will learn the history of the wellness program, the present status of the program, and the future of the program. Additionally, participants will learn the cost savings associated with the program including medical claims cost savings, sick time reductions, and worker's compensation savings. Finally, attendees will learn about the on-site fitness program, employee activities' programs, and collaborative programs with internal and external agencies. The session will be led by Autumn Romanowski, Wellness Manager at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.
