The experience of Haiti in providing health services has been challenging over the past several years. The problems that the country has faced have been severe. The economic and social instability has been countered by a number of initiatives, but the steady recruitment of health professionals to work in resource rich countries has had an impact. The author will discuss the issues and some of the factors that contribute to policy decisions.
(Note: The author currently serves as Director of Human Resources for the Ministry of Health in Haiti)
