The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration (SAMHSA) developed the National Registry of Evidence-Based Programs and Practices (NREPP) as a decision support tool for consumers, providers, researchers and scientists, and funding sources seeking information about substance abuse and mental health interventions. Information on the registry is intended to aid consumers and providers in finding the most effective interventions available for their needs. It is intended to aid funding sources in finding out what results may be expected and what resources would be required to implement programs.

NREPP provides summaries of the intervention outcomes, settings and populations in which the intervention has been studied, and resources required for implementation. Reviewers also rate the quality of evidence supporting reported results, the generalizability of findings, and the intervention's readiness for dissemination.

The presentation will discuss the review process, including types of documentation required for a complete and accurate review. Example reviews and factors which raised or lower ratings will be presented.
