Social Justice
This session calls attention to the social injustices that are prevalent in our present day society. The plights of the rural community, women, and the disenfranchised will be discussed. Public health nurses' ethical and professional responsiblities in war time will be examined.
Learning Objectives: 1. Discuss the ethical responsibilities of public health nurses to engage in public dialogue on social justice issues. 2. Describe changes in social and political policy that affects the health of populations. 3. Discuss public health nursing interventions to reduce health disparities and inequities among minority and vulnerable populations.
