| Spiritual wellbeing has long known to have had a significant impact on the overall wellbeing of individuals. This session presents a study that examines the relationship between spiritual wellbeing and eating disorders. Other topics including the feasibility of offering yoga classes as an adjunctive therapy in the treatment of hypertension in a low-income multicultural clinic population; the possible mechanisms that may account for the relationship between spirituality and depression; and insight in the evaluation of haptonomic massage and its effects on the well-being of cancer patients treated with chemotherapy in day care. | |||
| Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant (learner) in this session will be able to: 1. Describe the association between binge eating and spiritual well-being in college females 2. Discuss the appropriateness of Yoga in hypertension treatment 3. Explain the benefits of being more attentive to the bodily well-being of their patients by health care providers 4. Identify the mechanisms linking spirituality to mental health for the development of spiritually related interventions | |||
