| Disaster, whether manmade or natural, can strike without notice. In these instances it is important that a community is prepared and works together. This includes hospitals, emergency medical technicians, and civilians. This session investigates the best and most important methods for preparing for disastrous events and their aftermath. | |||
| Learning Objectives: Articulate the importance of linkages in overall community emergency preparedness. Discuss the mental and physical health consequences of disasters among those directly affected by a disaster and in the general population. Identify the role of public health in bioterrorism preparedness. Discuss the role of the trauma center and trauma system in disaster preparedness and response. | |||
