| Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death and disability for teens in the United states. This session will explore the long-term effect of graduated licensing laws in the U.S., the results of a teen driving intervention program, the observed effect of teen passengers, adolescent perceptions of crash prevention laws, and the evaluation of policy to reduce farm tractor crashes. | |||
| Learning Objectives: Understand the data supporting the effectiveness of state laws for graduated driver licensing programs. Identify the importance of parental management in the youth crash prevention. Examine differences in risky driving behavior among young drivers in the presence of teen passengers. Describe adolescents' perceptions and knowledge of a law for underage drinking and driving. Understand the impact of a policy intervention to reduce youth tractor crashes on public roads. | |||
