| Give participants the basic tools needed to implement a grassroots issue campaign on the state or local level around a public health issue. | |||
| Learning Objectives: Give an overview on the different components of putting together an advocacy campaign on an issue affecting your state or community (developing an outcome/goal/message, understanding who is for your issue and against, funding, timeline and implementation) Understanding and educating all parties involved (i.e., Legislative, Media, Community, Coalition partners, Own Leadership, related) Creating opportunities to energize/educate/mobilize your grassroots on the issue/policy/legislation. Implementing and adjusting your plan (city council visits, press statements, town halls, community meetings, grassroots action, etc). | |||
