| This session will provide an overview of evidence based decision-making in public health. Various phases of decision-making and the types of evidence that support those decisions will be defined and described. The session will include a current example of how scientific evidence is being to make health policy decisions at the state level. Finally, the session will review the benefits of using evidence in decision-making. | |||
| Learning Objectives: At the end of this session, audience members will: 1. Understand how different types of evidence support various public health decisions. 2. Understand when science provides the best evidence to support decisions. 3. Learn how one state uses evidence for health policy making. 4. Understand how evidence leads from better decision making to improved outcomes and sustainability. | |||
