Lessons from Health Communication Message Design Issues
While health communication campaigns may be highly visible once they are implemented, the specific factors that influence the design of messages in these campaigns may be less apparent. The presentations in this session will describe some of the issues that are important in message design and the implications for health communication practice of particular message design strategies.
Learning Objectives: At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
  1. Identify important factors in designing health communication messages;
  2. Describe how formative research can be used to develop health communication campaigns; and
  3. Discuss the implications of specific message design strategies for health communication practice.
