Oh the Places You'll Go: Health Education Outside the Box
This panel has been organized to show the breadth of what health educators do once in the field. The panel of speakers has been chosen with this in mind - all speakers practice their health education skills daily, but all in what may be seen as non-traditional venues in which for health educators to work. The session is aimed primarily at students, but also to new and seasoned practitioners.
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant (learner) in this session will be able to:
  1. Name core competencies of health educators;
  2. Provide at least three examples of application of a core competency skill in a non-traditional venue; and
  3. Describe how health education competencies prepare him or her for success in their chosen role.
