Academic and Public Health Partnerships
In this session the learner will hear about collaborative efforts of academic and public health partners to address important public health problems. Approaches include educational efforts, system-wide changes in disease control, and joint capacity building so that surge capacity for large-scale emergencies exists.
Learning Objectives: Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant (learner) in this session will be able to 1. Recognize the need for standard case investigation technique between investigators and identify methods to develop standard case investigation protocols 2. Describe some common barriers to public health / academic collaboration in control of infectious disease outbreaks 3. Understand the evidence based public health course developed in New York State. 4. Describe and discuss the goals and purpose of Team Epi-Aid 2 5. Discuss the constructing of workforce development courses relating to practice-based epidemiology at the local health department level
