Developing Policy for the Delivery of Genetic Services
This session will provide an understanding of the public health implications of genetics and bioethics concerns regarding expanded newborn screening, genetics services and testing, and reproductive genetics policy development. The participants will gain a greater understanding of the community perspectives and advocacy issues associated with each of these components of the delivery of genetic services.
Learning Objectives: 4. Session Objectives: at the end of the session participants will have: a. An understanding of the public health implications of genetics and bioethics issues b. An understanding of the national policy issues associated with expanded newborn screening and reproductive genetics. c. An understanding of the roles of key stakeholders in genetic testing, service and policy development d. A recognition of key issues related to the practices of policy development
