Abstract #122058

Fluoridation: Organized dentistry’s perspective

Richard Haught, DDS, Immediate Past President, American Dental Association, 211 East Chicago Ave., Chicago, IL 60611-2678, 312-440-3535, rappj@ada.org

The American Dental Association (ADA) has supported fluoridation since 1950 and has worked actively to support fluoridation in our country through its state and local constituent dental societies and member dentists. The ADA has assisted local and state health officials and agencies. The ADA has served as a source of information on fluoridation as well as a clearinghouse on the national level working with state and federal agencies as well as assisting its dentists members who become involved in fluoridation campaigns.
