The session will describe the development and implementation of quality improvement efforts at the federal, state and local level, challenges presented in pursuing these activities across varying levels of health systems and lessons learned to help attendees guide their future efforts in this area.

Learning Objectives:

• Analyze quality improvement trends affecting the nation's public health systems, and identify how these trends are impacting public health service delivery at the state level.
• Identify quality improvement efforts in selected federal, state and local public health systems, including those spearheaded by national organizations.
• Discuss the potential value of the impact of uniform quality measurement/standards across federal, state and local public health programs, including the potential challenges.
