Shantrell Johnson, Yukeba Davis, BS, and Sandra Faulk. Health Care For All, Kingsley House, 1600 Constance Street, New Orleans, LA 70130, 504-523-6221 152, ydavis@kingsleyhouse.org

The Walkers/Talkers (CHWs), are key to successfully implementing the outreach, education, and enrollment strategy for Health Care For All. As such, it is important to have buy-in, a clear understanding, consensus, and detailed follow-through of the outlined strategy for the program. The implementation of the strategy should be conducted so that it is first culturally sensitive and effective for the program participants, and secondly, the Walker/Talker must be able to document, analyze, and measure the effectiveness of services provided. Evaluation is a necessary element in demonstrating the success of any strategy, and key to the evaluation is documentation

During this session two Walkers/Talkers and the Program Supervisor will stimulate dialogue about effectively training and nurturing skills that will allow CHWs to actively participate in the evaluation strategy of any program with CHWs as key elements. The discussion also will focus on the initial involvement of the CHWs in workplan development and annual goal setting.

At the end of this session participants will have a greater understanding of:
