Club drugs continue to present interesting challenges for those working with the various populations using these substances. Drawing upon over a half-decade of experience working on research and interventions with club drug using populations, the author provides an assessment of existing research and health promotion efforts so as to provide direction for future efforts on the part of researchers and public health practitioners. In addition to discussing the papers presented earlier in the panel session, Dr. Parsons will synthesize the existing club drugs literature and explore how it relates to current health promotion efforts targeting the diverse range of club drug users. Drawing upon knowledge amassed through several studies on club drug use, he will also discuss the differences in dealing with the wide range of club drug users. Ultimately, Dr. Parsons will field questions from public health practitioners in the audience so as to foster discussion on future directions for health promotion efforts among the diverse range of populations who use club drugs.

Learning Objectives:

• Participants at this paper will be able to evaluate past research and interventions related to club drugs, identify future directions for work related to club drugs, and discuss the significance of club drugs in the field of public health
