| In this talk, Western and Eastern cultures would be compared in relations to differing cultural needs of patients seen by British and American doctors, nurses and public healthcare professionals. After mentioning the health politics, economics and law concerning cultural needs, a clear comparison would be made about cultural differences covering the profile of Western and Eastern society, family, child, adolescent, woman, man, and the elderly.
Furthermore, healthcare and business cultural differences in behavior and thinking would be outlined.
How religions influence a patient's culture, particularly in uptake of health services worldwide, and how verbal and non-verbal communication can be misunderstood? These issues would be covered sympathetically without getting involved in the politics of segregation, forced integration or confrontation. |
