This session will discuss initiatives of the Centers for Disease Control and Association of Public Health Laboratories collaboration to develop strengthened capabilities and capacities in resource-poor settings to support treatment, care and prevention efforts for HIV/AIDS, TB and opportunistic infections. |
Learning Objectives: The objective for this session is to provide knowledge of the prevalence and distribution of HIV/AIDS, TB and OI’s in resource-poor settings, the CDC/APHL collaborative approach to work in partnership with Global AIDS and PEPFAR partner countries to improve quality laboratory practice and knowledge of specific findings from assessment efforts, training programs developed and capability improvements achieved in resource-poor settings. |
