This session will describe the current status of HIV assays and their validation, assessment, use and effectiveness in resource-poor settings related to priority national and international goals for the treatment, care and prevention of HIV/AIDS. |
Learning Objectives: The objective for this session is to provide an understanding of the methods required for evaluation and validation of test systems, knowledge of the diagnostic test methods and commercial assays available and an understanding of the infrastructure required to support quality laboratory practice in the use of these technologies in resource-poor settings. |
