Health Impacts of Agricultural Practices
This session provides an overview of key issues linking agricultural practices and health impacts. Poor agricultural practices often have a negative impact on agricultural worker’s health, the environment they work in, local area residents, and consumers. By applying international health and safety standards and improving farming practices and management techniques, these negative impacts can be prevented and production can become economically beneficial and environmentally sound.
Learning Objectives: Participants will be able to describe several ways in which environmentally sound agricultural practices positively impact natural resources, health, and economics.
