Health education and health promotion does not occur only in traditional venues such as clinics or health fairs - it encompasses other community gathering points as well, such as businesses and places of worship. The panelists in this session will present health promotion programs that reach out to communities through faith-based organizations and through local businesses, such as salons. | |||
Learning Objectives: At the end of this presentation, participants will be able to identify at least three programs addressing health problems in specific communities and to describe unique aspects of doing health promotion work with faith communities. Participants will be able to fulfill the specific learning objectives of the individual presentations. | |||
