Issues That Affect Us All - Health in the Global Environment
This session will present research from 5 different countries throughout the world. These examples will present the effects that different types of environmental contamination and degradation can have on human health. They will also serve as illustrations of the challenges researchers and environmental adovocates can face in resource poor settings, as well as the sociopolitical nature of environmental health problems developing countries.
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to: 1)Understand the sociopolitical dynamics of environmental degradation and their impacts on public health in developing countries 2)Describe effects of environmental pollution on human health in a global context
